The Significance of the Last 10 Days of Ramadan
Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power, is one of the last 10 nights of Ramadan, with many believing it falls on the 27th. Worship is encouraged throughout these nights to seek Allah’s (SWT) mercy and blessings. Days are for fasting, while nights should be spent in prayer, remembrance, and charity.
On this night, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received the first revelation of the Qur’an, beginning with Surah Al-‘Alaq, which highlights human creation and the importance of knowledge.
Ramadan in 2025 is expected to begin on 28 February and end on 30 March, with Eid al-Fitr marking its conclusion. The last 10 nights will fall between 20 and 30 March, offering a special opportunity for increased worship, dua, and acts of charity to seek Allah’s blessings and mercy.
Any dua can be made during the last 10 nights of Ramadan, but some are especially encouraged.
A recommended dua for Laylatul Qadr and these nights is:
“Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibb al-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni.”
“O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.”
Charity is highly encouraged throughout Ramadan, especially during the last 10 nights when rewards are multiplied. Giving on Laylatul Qadr brings immense blessings, as Allah (SWT) rewards generosity.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.”
(Al-Tirmidhi)
By dedicating time to prayer, dua, and charity, Muslims can maximize the spiritual rewards of these blessed nights and draw closer to Allah (SWT).
